It was never supposed to hurt this bad. "I love you, but I have to let you go." I have to let you go... You see because the pain is undesirable, I can't describe it, it's indescribable; I take the meds the docs prescribe but I - I just, have to let you go... You had my heart so tight, Wrapped up in your web. I tried to escape it but-- I just could not. Felt weak. Not just in my knees, in my mental state. I'm doing 150 on the interstate, multitasking, writing while I drive- I know it's wrong but I have to get out of this place. You caught me broken hearted. I was vulnerable and could not move. I was rushing for something to get into. Thought I was ready to find love, Who knew that it wasn't you? I thought it was you. My dream never came true.

You can take your mask off. Your hearts broken but, you can take your cast off. And we can heal together. See things revealed together. Open up to each other, You know, build together. Your last man was a jerk.  Facts. And you just quit the habit of relapsing. Power moves. You got power tools; And that brain inside that pretty head of yours, is so powerful. Even when she's getting ready for bed, with a scarf on her head.     She’s beautiful. With no makeup, so vulnerable, Open to criticism. But none from me. I just, honestly criticize the loveliness of her eyes. No blush. But her cheeks turn rose-colored when I say; "Your lips are so soft, if given the opportunity, I’d kiss those every day." She never been this spoiled. With words or with deeds.

I used to love her,  Until she lost me.

How much would it take for you to say that you love me? Admit that you trust me. I admit that I'm lucky. Been praying for the day I find somebody that's worth mentioning in poems. And ever since I met you, been writing non- stop.

A poem is only a brain full of thoughts, Until it is written. Imagine it. Melded carefully From your brains' matter. Sealed in a bottle of clear, pure words. Set adrift on the lakes of time. Life’s restless surge, Sieging with no sign of ending.   Until a few congruous feelings from hearts never met Pluck it from the sea And recognize a message; That illuminates their souls. Readers find writers; Never the opposite.

I can feel the distance. The tension , I can cut it with a double edge serrated kitchen knife. The anger from when you stated, “I will never leave you.”  Still lingers . I am bitter . I have never been this bitter. You have traded me in for whatever, whoever has taken you. You broke your promises. Your loyalty doesn’t run as deep as you’ve claimed it ran, Come to think of it, I doubt that you have any loyalty coursing through your veins at all. It seems like the only thing that is keeping you alive is the Hennessy  that runs through your blood stream. You traded me for nights out? You treat me like I’m just a trend. I can say that I have grown up, but when it comes to moving forward – You’re just too stuck on looking back then…

I’m sorry if I pushed you. I never planned to try to force you, to love me. I had no idea that you were so scared. You made it easy for me to wake up in the morning. Looking at my phone, anticipating a good morning text. I couldn’t wait to leave the house for once, Anxiously waiting to see you in person. I have never experienced feelings of love before you and I got locked in a gaze. You left me stunned and in dazed. Much like a wild fire, you set my heart ablaze. How many times does a man have to break your heart before you learn your lesson? Stop second guessing. He’s not with you, not for you… There’s a difference.
