"Lamentations"
Right hand glued to old wrongs.
Left one, penning feelings into new songs.
Eyes staring out the only window in the room.
Metal bars clinging.
Such is this mans history.
The lamentations of an convict.
skin stretched over tired bones.
He's young & successful, and has nothing to showcase his talent.
Written X's that never cross,
with unfinished dots on I's.
He seeks the prize.
The Lamentations of a writer.
Her heart beats like drums.
Scared.
Swollen ankles and upset stomachs;
mornings never the same.
5 more months of pain.
Story of her life: 16, with child.
Untyped periods, lost in bleeding sentences, which run on.
She runs on.
The lamentations of the pregnant teenager.
Their breathing slows down.
Making every breath count.
Growling stomachs & feverish mornings.
Thirst periods because no clean water.
Death in the air, fading skin & hair.
The lamentations of hungry children of Africa.
Their skin taut like leather.
Spindly legs supporting large heads, bearing heavy hearts, holding a million tears; ready.
Victim to ghouls.
Who have no souls.
No compassion, heated cores.
Temper like volcanoes; ready to explode.
The lamentations of bully victims.
There is a tree of Knowledge.
"Eat from it". pay your homage.
Don't let snakes tell you you can't enjoy golden fruits.
Cries of lost perfection,
washing down proudness.
The lamentations of a Delawarean
poet.
The world is the balcony on which I muse.
Unread and unseen poems.
Aching feet & carpal tunnel,
9 to 5's crazy pain.
